Symptoms:

Early symptoms are oval, water-soaked spots on leaves.
Mature symptoms are characteristic cigar shaped lesions that are 3 to 15 cm long and Lesions are elliptical and tan in color.
Lesions first appear on the lower leaves and increase in size and number until very little living leaf tissue is left. Spores produced on the under surface are arranged in concentric zones resembling a target like pattern when observed against light.

Causal_organism:

Exserohilum turcicum

Curative Measures:

Spray Metalaxyl (or) Mancozeb at 10 days interval after first appearance of the disease.

Preventive Methods:

Use of resistant varieties is the most effective and economical method of reducing the losses.
Soil application of P.fluorescens (or) T.viride + Well decomposed FYM or Sand at 30 days after sowing.
